JC Wihtney Quarter
« on: July 10, 2009 - 05:37:35 PM »
Well - I knew it was gonna happen. Wife decided to buy me a drivers side quarter panel for Fathers Day...GREAT!

She bought it from JC Whitney......not feeling good about this....

JC Chat person says it had all the right curves, goes to the sail panel, has side marker cut out.....okay, I feel a little better despite the fact that it doesn't have a unique part number

Waited three weeks.......

Today a POS came in the mail - it's not even the size of a quarter skin, bends are wrong, no side marker cut out, body line is just a bend...not a curve. obviously hand rolled and not stamped steel. Completely worthless

So yep...alll my original fears were confirrmed. There is a reason why these only cost 100$ - it''s not better than something I could make with a hammer and some stock steel

I do have to give JC credit - they are going to refund my wifes shipping & purchase and are even going to arrange shipping it back. Sounded like the customer service rep had a transcript of the chat session. She didn't even question it!

Now - I just hope they follow through. And maybe my wife will listen to me next time (haha)

AMD or Goodmark all the way - never JC Whitney again (if I can help it)
Comin' at ya like a herd of turtles

sorry to hear that marty.
but it sounds like they are willing to reverse everything, so your only out time. i know that can suck worse sometimes, but it actually coulda been worse.

like, say the thing arrived and actually looked decent, so you proceed to install it and find out its all shizz metal, and blows through at every tack!
or warps so bad you get sea sick looking at it.

hope it works out.   :burnout:
