73 Challenger
4 speed
3:55 gears
4 barrel
440 Magnum
Mild street type upgrades

If I'm moving downhill doing 65 on the freeway - 10ish MPG
On the streets much better as I can keep the R's down - 13ish

Car - 1970 Barracuda convertible
Eng. - 318ci
Carb - Holley 600cfm
Trans - A904
Gears - 3:23 sure grip

Average - 13.5mpg
Best - 17mpg (all highway)
Worst - nevermind
Note: Those figures have been converted using A US gallon, not the larger Canadian  gallon, so beware of inflated Canuck mileages.

P.S. I don't know if this hurts my mileage, the cam is .450 lift & 290 duration.

I do remember checking my ex-wifes 1 bbl 225 Slant-6 '72 Barracuda fuel mileage (the only E-body I ever had that I can recall actually checking the mileage on over multiple tankfulls) and it was 16-17 mpg overall. It had a 2.76 open rear.

I know this is old, but I finally got around to figuiring out mine and thougth I would share:
1973 Barracuda
440 w/ Holley 650
727
3:55

A solid 8 mpg back and forth to work (average speeds 30-60 mph with a short mile or so on the autobahn at 80) Guess I can't complain too loud - until I get to Italy and have to start paying the local prices for fuel becuase of the different rationing rules there. Then the ZZR-1200 will be seeing a LOT more time on the road than the 440.

73 340 Duster with those heavy 5 mph bumpers.  Stock low compression 340 with original thermoquad carb.  727 auto and 3.23 axle gears.  Cheap under the steering link "crushed" headers with original dual exhaust to the back bumper.  Put over 130,000 miles on it.  MPG average was 17-18 at 70-80 mph on the open road.
On one quick trip, drove it 214 miles in under 2 hours.  Had to stop at the 90 mile mark to refill the tank cause I knew the car wouldn't make it on one tank.  Thats 10 or 11 mpg at 115-120 mph.
