Tuff wheel
« on: May 15, 2009 - 09:03:17 AM »
I have a nice original tuff wheel that is in great driver shape with horn button. It was on my car when I bought it and at one point the spokes were painted a bright silver. I dont have any pictures downloaded but its in very good shape. Any idea what I should ask for it??

My trash barrel is at 17 strawberry rd.....
With the painted spokes I`d guess $100-150

How is the foam padding? If it's cracking or coming loose, that hurts the value. Having the spokes painted may hurt the value too if it looks too far from original color. My meek guess is $60 to $100, but pics would help.

Thanks for the feedback! The foam grip itself is in very good shape. It looks like it was trimmed up a little where it meets the spokes. I'll get some pics today and post em up!!! :2thumbs:

Heres the pics. Like I said its in great shape and the only thing I have noticed is that someone trimmed the foam around the spokes, however it was done evenly.

I bought one that was in about the same shape but the foam is intact around the spokes. The foam at the top is loose, doesn't rattle but does rotate like a motorcycle throttle. I gave $50 off of eBay for it.

Any tricks to rebonding that? I'd love to have the guys at www.tuffwheelrestoration.com do their thing on it but theres a little matter of the $300 they charge that I would have to consider. Sure looks like they do good work though. Anyone try to rebond and rewrap their wheel? This is an art, like upholstery work.
