does anybody remember what this card was used for?

it has the vin number on it and slots punched in the card..and is inserted in to some type of machine,,i assume at the dealer

nope those were used at the factory.  Computer program cards is what that is.  Hope this helps.

I even made cards something like that for running programs back in school.  A lot different now of course but not all will remember those.  Hehehe

They were used for several things.  Just like you have several computer programs to run your comuter,  Could have been for inventory control as well.  but most likely were used to run programs.

i think when it was feed it to the computer it may have showed the options,,but i am still guessing

That could be true also for a quality checker at the end of the line to compair what was suppose to be on the car to what it really had on it.

Well... to show MY age... it looks like a standard 80 column IBM punch card that were used to "run" early computers (long before silicone wafers or chips!).   I wish I could help on the REAL question ......

1. Insert IBM card into card reading machine.

2. Hit "print".

3. Pull broadcast sheet from about 80 or more printers at different sub-assembly areas all over the plant.

You got that one right Barry I would love to build me a new 1970 Barracuda, 1970 Gran Coupe and 1970 Cuda just like I liked them.   :bigsmile:
