Name that hole
« on: July 25, 2004 - 09:35:37 PM »
I'm wondering what this hole in my firewall is for.  Its open and theres always a draft on my feet.  I havent taken a picture of it, but I can if this description isn't clear enough.  There is a 1.5 or 2 inch hole on the far drivers side of my firewall.  Looking at the firewall it is to the right of the master cylinder.  last thing you get to before the hood hinge.  it has two smaller (bolt?) holes on either side of it.  My guess is its for the windshield washer something-or-other.  My car doesn't have any windshield washer stuff on it now.  It had the foot pump on the floor when I bought it, but that by itself wasn't doing me any good so I took it off to get it out of the way.  Am I right about the hole or is it for something else, and is there a "correct" plug for it if its not in use?  My extra 2" repop plastic body plug was a little too big.

I'm guessing 360Cuda is right about it being the firewall plug.  Is it a long, narrow slit that appears to be used to empty debris from the cowl???  If so, that'll be it. ;) :P
