I am cranking along on installing some old skool Cyclone headers on my SB 360 motor in my 73 challenger. I made the simple mistake of not installing the headers on the motor before I dropped the car on it. No biggie, right..
so I pulled the steering box off the k frame, and put the drivers header in from below, then reinstalled the header. There was a little wrestling, but not too much cursing.
I kept the studs and nuts, so I know I don't need to peel them out.
so I managed to get the drivers side header on my engine with the gasket.
I used some NOS bolts and conical washers from my exhaust manifolds.
Q. 1 Do I need to use the conical washers, or do I need to use a flat washer & split washer instead?
The second to last bolt could not accept a conical washer, so I used a short bolt w/integral washer that worked. It seems to have plenty of thread grab, so I assume Its all good.
Q.2 am I supposed to use sealant around the gasket & bolts? I am not familiar with good standard of practice on this stuff, so pointers help.
The passenger side seems just about the same, the only question I have is do I need a new transmission dipstick tube?
Thank for the input!
