I am not convinced that these yellow jacket cars are any different than the blue and white inaugral cars.  Fancy stripes and interior trim.  Everything else seems the same.

they did one year it was a dodge  omni.i thing mopar called it  hell on wheels. it was a bad little car.had 60s all around,5 speed i think it was turboed. it ate 5.0s up my best friend had one.the only way it looked different from the 4banger was it had 5 lug and some body flaring with 60s on it.

It's actually just cloth seats, no fancy heated cups or steering wheel, no navigation system, no fancy active dampening suspension etc. Apparently cuts $5,000+ off a regular 392. It's not supposed to be better just as fast, but less money that's the point

You might be thinking about the GLH, which stood for "Goes Like Hell." I was never in one of these, but a friend had a Shelby Charger which was quite fast and handled very well.

   One of my twin sons has a 84 homemade version that started life as a 2.2, carburated, automatic and he put a 2.5 turbo in it and a 5 spd stick and then a Comp cam and some home porting and that little bugger WILL eat a 5.0 for lunch. Total sleeper to the non-cognoscenti and I'd better go for the stroker kit with my Challenger before I try him on for size.

Just watched the speed channel showcase drive at the old factory the car looked pretty nice and definately a good handler for all that horsepower.

I guess my question is, if you want a cheap car that goes fast, why not pick up a used camaro/mustang/firebird...  Hell even a 8+ year old Corvette can be had in the 20's, maybe even less!

Chryco's right - government mandates (and it's not just the US, folks) are getting ridiculously out of hand, forcing manufacturers to further cut fuel consumption (means higher prices and less power) while improving safety features (meaning higher prices and higher weight.)

What I get upset about is these cars that park themselves, that warn drivers when there's a car next to them or detects if they're falling asleep...  I want to know whatever happened to PEOPLE DRIVING CARS....?  It's seeming more and more like CARS DRIVING PEOPLE and it's sickening that this morons need this crap.

The Challenger weighs so much because of a Magnesium support frame built into it's roof to protect the idiot inside when he flips the thing over.  Frankly if you're dumb enough to actually create the perfect condition which would allow this to happen, you SHOULD suffer some neck injuries....
