Aftermarket Rear Suspension Options?
« on: July 27, 2004 - 02:29:33 PM »
I might be asking too much, but I have to ask.  Is there anyone who makes an aftermarket rear suspension system for E-Bodies? I am interested in something similar to what Unique Performance has for their Mustangs.  ( http://www.uniqueperformance.com/ProductPage.aspx?ItemID=27 )

If anyone has any sugestions and what would be involved I would love to hear those also.

At this point, I am doing body work to my Barracuda and have my project completely mapped out, except the rear suspension.   My concern is that with 600hp to 700hp the rear might be my weak link as far as handling and being able to keep the power to the ground.   This will be a frequently street driven car similar to what, I guess they call, a pro-touring car.  (Melding old styling to modern engineering)

Cool system , I never seen anything like that for a Mopar , , i`m sure the same principals can be adapted though
leafs offer a lot of side load stability, which helps cornering but they are heavy , I`m trying to sort out a ultimate system for handling as well

This part is very frustrating for me.  Kind of beyond my experience. :-[

I will be going this route when more money falls out of my.....

I like the mono leaf and traction bars, all rolled into one.  Don't know if this will be an ideal set-up for a road-race type car, though, but it definately cut some weight....
