Sounds right.  Please explain blew up a little better. Did you grease the joint? Have the clips in? How tight?  Did you center the joint after installing it? :feedback:

Drew your original rear ujoint was 2 5/8  and the 741 is 2 1/8th   You did buy a joint that was 2 sizes right?  And when installed, it shouldn't be tight. No ujoint should be tight. You didnt drop a little roller pin sideways did you?  Happens all the time to a lot of people.  The clips go right in when you have it all correct and it will be centered automaticly since there is no room for side clearance

i havent pulled it out yet to see where the failure was. i did buy the one with two sizes and it fit perfectly. i did center it after putting it in. i might have dropped a little roller pin sideways, didnt think i did because i was really careful with it but i could have missed it. i will have to take pics when i get it apart so that everyone can see it.

Quite often when you install a ujoint and it feels tight, you can tap the weld ring with a ball peen hammer once or twice. That will center the joint and it will move freely.

One coming apart that quick sure sounds like a c-clip not fully seated.
