OK just ran to the garage. There is NO evidence anything was ever glued to the back of my kicks! As I recall I pulled rectangular pieces out of the recess in the pillar.
This is an REM kit from ROSEVILLE (not finding fault here) it came w only 3 pieces and was sealed when I got it. There are a few kits on egag right now ... also 3 piece... is this ANOTHER 70 ONLY MYSTERY?

They are not glued, the odd "C" shaped cutouts help locate them until the kick panels are screwed into place.
The ones shown are 1970 parts.

With out an actual pic and going from the one pic on the seat .doesnt the third one go up by the master cylinder and next to the e brake . its about 6x6 in size .

The original one by the ebrake is still there, does not look like that one shown.
I've come to the conclusion this is another MOM MYSTREY!
But I NOW have an idea!
