Platinum or Copper

So, went to my favorite discount store to pickup a set of Autolite 65's and after getting home noticed I picked up platinum plugs. Went ahead and installed them anyways. I've done a search on this forum for opinions but came up 50/50 for and against. My engine runs very rich and tends to load up, normal plugs last about 6mths of strett driving. I will run the plats and let you guys know the results.

why not adjust ther carb to run leaner ?

Ya think.
Actually I've leaned out this Edelbrock with the smallest jets available in my jet kit and still have a rich situation. If anyone has some other ideas please let me know.

lower the float level , lean the idle mixture , make sure the choke is coming off completely , advance the timing for starters
