72-74 painted cuda grills
« on: July 26, 2004 - 10:21:49 AM »
I have seen some 72-74 cudas that have a silver grill and some that have a grill that is painted the same color as the car.  I was wondering what decided if a car had a painted grill or a silver grill.  Was it a trim level or something or did it have to do with the stripes.  Any help would be appreciated.

I don't think 72-74 grills had an option to be body color . . . . I thought they were all silver.   ???  Maybe the ones you saw that were painted were done by the owners!  ;D   ;D

Thats what I was thinking to for awhile, but I bought an original 73 cuda/duster dealer catalogue and the cuda in the picture there has a grill that is painted red along with the rest of the car.

'72 'CUDAs could have painted grills as part of a body package but I have only seen
'73s like that in the advertising

The '72s could also have the blackout hood treatment with reverse stripes 8) 8)
very rare
