retractable rear seat belt 74 Cuda - help!
« on: August 15, 2009 - 11:10:18 AM »
Hi again, I am going nuts over the rear seatbelts and can't go any further till I get them in. :pullinghair:

Can anyone post a pic of the rear retractable seat belts and the proper way for them to be in?

They were out when I got the car, they must sit behind the rear panel (right?) but I tried a couple of different ways to put them in and the dang belt won't move right when the panel is iin place.

Any help would be appreciated!
Jeff from Cleveland, Ohio

K, I took some pics for you, are you talking about the front shoulder harness which goes behind the rear side panel? rear belts come from behind rear seat, don't have the outer belts but the bolt is in the pic, working on posting up those pics now, also got some trunk seal info for you! Rich.

Back in a few!

Trunk seal, with a special note, I put one on my 73 & it's way too thick, I think it's a soft seal, it raised the hole trunk lid about an 1/8th of an inch (door seals seem fine)
1st pic is the beat one in my 74
2nd pic is the new one in the 73
3rd pic is the cut I put in it all the way around (didn't even drop any) till I get another!

Those pics and the info are PERFECT!

You guys want to know thw funny part? I'm trying to put the rear retractable lap belt in where the front retractable belong!  :roflsmiley:
I only have the lap belts for the front. And the way the Challenger has the shoulder harness up front mounted up above the window, I wasn't even thinking about it.

The trunk pics are great as well, I think the weatherstrip I have looks similar to the pics, so I'm going to go ahead and see how it fits.

THANKS AGAIN!

Pretty sure the one piece front belts were started in 74,my 73 has em same as your challenger up by the roof.
If your trunk seal fits good let me know what brand & where you got it, Thanks Rich.
