Anyone know what shade of black the hood inserts are painted on a 73 Cuda?

I think they are a flat black.  I know I have seen Cuda's that have them painted orange just like around the grill.

:iagree:  My '73 inserts came in flat black from the factory.  I have since repainted them satin black.

My 73 Cuda ones are body color and they are still wearing their factory finish.

I believe there is some confusion on what a scoop insert is... there are two pieces the scoop and a flat piece, sometimes referred to as a blockoff ... the scoop came body color the insert/blockoff came black (I'd call it satin black), this is for both Barracudas & Challengers.

I've seen a lot of block-off/inserts in orange.  Is this just a trend?

I thought maybe the block off plates were orange on the Cudas when you ordered the orange grill but maybe not.  They do look good that color.
