fuel line, fuel pump questions
« on: August 08, 2009 - 08:02:52 AM »
  me again.....

just a few questions related to these two photos.

1.) where does this hard fuel line go?  :dunno: What does it connect to? (see pic)

2.) which bung is fuel feed, and which bung goes to the carb?  :clueless: (See pic)

3.) The  fuel lines are 5/16, and the fuel return/vapor line are what dimension?

4.) how much soft hose do I need to purchase to get this together?

Thanks! :clapping:

From the rear forward

The last, I'm guessing, 18" of fuel line is rubber & slips over the picture left pump nipple, then a hard line screws into the right connection & is bent to fit between the alternator & timing chain cover.  Both lines are the same 5/16" on my '73 340

Are you sure that's a fuel line?....could it be the rear brake line?

Hmm.... No, I already have the full length fuel and brake lines on the car, so i beleive this is a vapor fuel line... I just don't know where it goes..
Ideas?
Thanks,

The vapor line runs beside the fuel line (see two lines in pics), but has no fittings on the ends.... Could that be meant for the carburetor?...   The rest of the vapor lines that run from the canister to the carb are rubber.

COuld it be the one for the carburetor? I have no idea. Sounds good.
Anyone have a pic of what the setup  looks like?
I can see in the pics what it looks like coming off the top of the engine, but no idea how I get this thing on. It looks a little long... :dunno:

I'm clueless... :clueless:

I just did my new line........you need 4-6" of rubber line to connect the back line to the sending unit. Don't forget the ground strap. (from one end of line over rubber to other end of steel line) Install the line from the rear forward
THe line runs on the pass side in the rear wheel well under the rocker through the frame into the engine bay. You need about 12" of rubber hose to connect to rear fuel pump barb. The front fuel line I used metal is a 5/16 steel line I bent to run up and connected a rubber hose to a filter and then to carb.
