92 Big Block Dakota Project
« on: August 20, 2009 - 05:08:50 PM »
I'm selling this Dakota project that I started a few years back.  Shortly after I got the engine in it, I met my future wife.  We now have a 6 month old and I have lost interest in the project.

It is a 2WD X-cab short box.  It origonally had the 3.9L V6 but it now has a 400 Big Block in it.  I used the Schumacker motor/tranny mount kit and mid 60's Chrysler manifolds for the swap.  It has 2 1/2" pipe running to 40 series Flowmaster mufflers.   It does run and drive but the trans has been sitting for a long time and needs new seals.  The 400 has a MP purpleshft cam. (484-284)  The trans has a B&M shift kit and a new Summit convertor with 2000 stall.  The ignition is MP with an orange box.

The truck is rust free.  I bought it from a kid just graduating college.  It was his high school vehicle and he was origonally from Texas. (it is now in Iowa) The body has some dents in the roof and hood but is very solid.

I installed a Belltech drop kit...2" in front and 4" in the rear.  The wheels in the picture are NOT for sale.  I put them on my Durango.

I installed a brand new Sanden style A/C compressor from Bouschillon Engeneering as well as there conversion brackets.  The A/C lines just need new rubber hoses fabbed to connect to the new compressor.  The trucks A/C switch still acivates the compressor witch I thought was pretty cool.  I thought that without the computer, things like that may stop working but that wasn't the case.

I installed a 20 gallon fuel tank in the bed to get rid of the stock side mount unit.  That was so I could run complete dual exhaust on the truck.  Right now it just dumps down after the mufflers.  I also installed a flush mounted toneu cover that is not in the pics.  It is black but can be painted.  It mounts flush to the bed sides and is held up by two gas struts.

As far as the interior goes, it's not finished but there are a lot of new pieces in there.  I installed  Dodge Avenger bucket seats and made a console that houses a new B&M floor shifter and new Autometer gauges.  The stock dash cluster was removed and new gauges were installed.  There is a new tach and speedometer in the dash along with new lef/right turn signal lights and new blue high beam indicator light.  The console houses new fuel level, oil pressure, volt and water temp gauges.  The carpet is new and the interior panels have been changed from camel color to gray.

The rear X-cab section of the interior was removed and in its place I installed a custom made sub enclosure.  It houses (4) 12" subs and two 800 watt amps.  The whole thing is covered with gray vynal.

Finally the truck has a metal rollpan that replaced the diamond plate bumper that came with the truck.

The truck is taking up too much room and it needs to go.  I won't pass up any reasonable offer.  I'd like to get $3500 for it.  I have a lot more in it than that...just in NEW parts.  You can PM me here or e-mail me at "burdar at hotmail.com"  Thanks
