My '73 Challenger "Pro Street"

I am in a situation with the shop being slow that I might have to sell my '73 Challenger that I have had since I was 19. 

 It is all apart,has had ALL the bad metal replaced (new rear quarters,trunk,trunk extensions,rear wheel wells,panel below the rear glass and the passenger/driver floor).

I do not want to sell it because if I do,I know that I will never have the money to buy another,but my bills are way behind.

It has been painted lemon twist on everything but the front clip,it needs to be all be painted again due to color mismatch.

I have everything to put it back together,plus these aftermarket parts that are NOT installed:
New Edelbrock Air Gap RPM manifold
New Holley Street Avenger 770 Carb
New Moroso Deep Oil Pan
New Lunati VooDoo cam
New Ceramic coated Hooker Headers
New Mickey Thompson Rear Tires 13 inch tread
New Weld wheels

It has an 8 3/4 with a fresh sure grip and 4.30 gears (B body housing)
360 Engine rebuilt 20 years ago with around 5000 street/strip "racing" miles on it
NOs Cheater set up

If I can't get what will help me out then I will not sell it.

no clue what it would bring in todays market, but I`m sorry to hear you need it gone to pay bills... must be the worst reason ever.... I hope you will get things sorted out

Gosh Terry,
I hope things work out for you so you can keep your car. Especially since you've had it so long. Wish you were closer. I would have used you to redo my transmission which I just had rebuilt. Sounds like a sweet car!! Good luck with whatever you decide.

is it a back half car or relocated leaf spring car?
I'll throw a guess out there of 10-15K.

positives:
rust free starting point
halfway finished racecar
all there to finish (assuming here)
done by a person who planned on keeping the car

Negatives:
halfway finished racecar
will always bring less than a 70 or 71 in the same condition, and will be judges accordingly
needs paint, helps that it is not 10 different colors at least
not much cage, so for a faster racecar it would be a negative
long way to go to finish.

For what the car is truly worth versus whay I think the market will bring I would definitely keep it. You know you would regret selling. Hopefully there are other ways to keep the bills at bay. Good luck

   SOrry to hear of your tough times, Terry.  Hope things work out for you.

It does look like a nice car for the right person.  Looks like of the work that's been done, it looks really good.  It's a tough car to tack a price on since it's custom.  gkring did point out some really good valid point about the car.  It is a great foundation to work with.

It is my dream car,the one that I have always wanted to have and I am building it the way that I have always pictured her looking in my mind. I am "old school" I love big meats in the back, I HATE 17 inch or 20 inch low profile tires on these cars,but that's just me.
I won't sell her for $10,000 or less,she means too much to me to let her go that cheap.
I am going to bust my ass this week at the shop and try to make some money,I just need the phone to ring with 2 or 3 good jobs and I will work day and night to get them done this week.
