72 to 70 grille change on Cuda
« on: August 25, 2009 - 11:03:24 PM »
I know the fender side lights are different, I plan on shaving them off and not having any side marker lights. The front header panel is different on the 70, my question is what is, if anything different on the fenders for mounting the grille or headlights?

The 70 fenders have the headlight brackets welded into the headlight buckets.  Also, the bottom of the header panel will have to have two nuts per side added to the 72-74 fenders to mount this part.  This is a 70 only feature.  I suppose you could use some sheetmetal screws here if you wanted to get really sloppy.  I would install two nuts in the fender though.

Back to the headlight brackets, I have heard that the 69 A-body fenders have the same brackets.  Probably true for other previous year fenders as well...

Sorry I thought it was 74. 70-72 bumpers the same. I would leave the side markers, I think they look great and improve the look. It also looks more authentic
