Miloden water pump question
« on: September 25, 2009 - 09:12:38 AM »
I just picked up a new miloden high flow water pump (part number 16250 i believe) and when i got home I was checking it out and noticed on the bottom side of the pertruding portion of the housing that holds the shaft there is a small hole in the under side of it, and I was wondering if anyone knows what this hole is for? I know  :useless: I will get a picture this afternoon.

it is just a vent between the brgs , all water pumps have a hole there , if the seal fails it will generally drip coolant from that hole

Thanks Neil, I had a feeling that it was some kind of vent, but wanted to make sure before I installed it and then discovered a nice coolant leak.

no problem , the water pump you remove will have the hole in the same area
