Cudas with 6 Pack Hoods
« on: August 27, 2009 - 02:12:55 AM »
looking for pics of Cudas, (black 70's would be best) with 6 pack hoods.  Thinking of losing my shaker hood as it is such a pain in the ass plus I want to run a different intake.  Need some pics and any ideas on where to buy a decent quality fibergalss 6 pack hood.  Thanks

Just wondered if you were talking about the AAR hood or what?

no, a 6 pack hood like on 69.5 roadrunners and bees.  I know cudas never came with them but it was a common switch and we used to have a 70 with one (from Direct Connection).    us body makes them, just not sure of the quality??? http://www.usbody.com/

I really like this style of hood. I wouldnt mind having an extra hood with one just to change the looks every once in a while.

I don't know Tyler, I really like the Shaker on your car. It suits it. :2thumbs: It's even cooler seeing the back view of it  ;)

Musclecar (TV show) did several modifications to get their Shaker to fit correctly, including sectioning out a portion of the base to take some height out of the overall set-up.  Not sure which intake you want, but this might be an option.

Otherwise, how much do you want for your Shaker?

My stroker motor has a victor on it that is definately pretty tall.  Snobar at Shakerhood.com says I can make it work but I'm not sure.  I was going to change the intake but it is apparently gasket matched and port matched to the heads and the engine shop advised strongly against switching it.  Anyway, just throwing ideas around, not even sure if that engine will be going in the car as I am still looking for a roller for that engine.

I have a Vic + a 1" spacer with a demon carb and it all fits under an RT hood using a drop base air cleaner.
