Rear bumper filler

Hey everyone! I have a 73 Challenger & changed the bumpers over to 70-72 bumpers. Do I need to use the 70 - 72 rear metal bumper filler? I've been trying to mount it to the car but it does not seem to fit right. Does anyone have pictures of how it is supposed to mount. Please help.

I just read a post a few weeks ago where someone did exactly what you are doing.  They said that they didn't need the metal filler panel but they put it on anyway.  Maybe the design of the 72-74 tail light panel does away with the need for that filler.  What I would do is mount the bumper and then look to see if there is a bad gap showing.  You may not even need the filler.

Thanks. I've just been trying to figure it out and can't. I hope that there is a need for it cause i just bought it from someone.

I bought the filler panel for my 73 also. You shouldn't need it when installing the early style bumper brackets. There was very little gap when the bumper is installed. Try hanging you bumper without it. I'm going to use the one I bought on my 71 instead.
