'70 Challenger 318 headers with a column shift possible?
« on: September 30, 2009 - 03:55:11 AM »
As the title suggests, I would like to put some headers in my '70 with a column shifted 318.  Is this possible without modding anything else, particularly the column shift?  I have been searcing around to no avail.

I'd like some that are easily done and reasonably priced as an engine swap is down the road, but not anytime in the forseeable future.

Anyone have any advice, or know of a company making a drop in pair?

Take a look at this:
http://static.summitracing.com/global/images/instructions/sum-g9040.pdf

Pay particular attention to Step 3-i and Illustrations A and B.

This is for Summit's cheapest header.  Three of the tubes go under the center link and you WILL crush them at some point.

You didn't mention if your swap will be to a big block or if you're keeping the small block.  If you're staying small block, get the Doug's or TTI's or Hooker 5115's instead.  They stay above the center link.

Thanksguys.  Not sure on the big or smallblock thing yet.  Either a stroked 360 or a built 440.

I wish!  When the time comes if I can budget that kinda scratch, I think I would go for a hemi crate.
