Early Limitations
« on: September 24, 2009 - 03:27:20 PM »
Not sure if I've been around long enough to ask this, but...

It seems like we've been inundated lately with people joining just so they can post a "for sale" listing.  While I certainly appreciate the fact that we're getting "first crack" at some of these items, it also seems that a lot of these newbies really don't have a good understanding of what an ecomomic downturn means with regard to the value of their vehicle(s).  Also, most do not seem to have any interest in this "community" and will likely be gone once their car is.

Would there be interest in limiting posting in the "For Sale" section to Jr. Members and above?

oh dear....  :22yikes:

    we`ve had lots of dicussions on the matter and the outcome was that nothing changed and every one makes up his own mind wether he wants to do business with newbies, here to sell stuff and never return.
I personally don`t care if it`s a newbie or not since my dealings with a full member...  :violin:

A big site with many parts needed hungry members.  I have no issues with newbies selling parts, just to sell them.  The biggest thing here is to play it safe with a newbie, find someone around that area to go look at the items for you if possible, get clear pictures, exchange and verify all ways of communication.   Many wonderfull deals have come through this site. Very rarly does anyone get burned.  It could happen, but see above details to be safe

Actually ..........If a newbie does join just to sell some parts.........We would not have known that a part you just had to have was available.  I don't mind  and it gets our site to more folks...........

Yes this has been talked about before.  As long as the newbie's follow the rules, we will let them be.  Sometimes some of them have some good parts for sale.

Down side is they probably join many sites to expose the item to more people, but as has been said above some good bargains can be had.   :money:
