440 electronic distributor
« on: October 04, 2009 - 09:50:18 PM »
I'm still running a points distributor. It's out at the moment and a good time to replace it. Anyone have one they are not using?

What "part house" Alan? Do you mean any local jobber?

TrippleGreen tried the 1st one in his 318 & it never ran...Second one is the same brand, ProComp as I posted at almost 2X the price except it includes a coil....Both would require new plug wires or changing yours to the GM style.

Thanks Bullitt! I bought new MSD wires and that sure would suck if I couldn't use them!
Any other options up your sleeve? :) I'd like to use the wires I have.
I haven't looked into a rebuilt from a local jobber like Alan suggested yet but I will.
Thanks Brad

1st off the rebuilt $40. distributor will require a core to return or pay a core charge + you will need a ECU another $30. + wiring & balast resistor another $20....

The post I made from Mancini is a ready-to-run unit for $89 no other new stuff needed.

Here is an OK deal on a complete OE-style conversion

I should have said that I'm going to be using a Mopar MSD box -6AL so I don't need the box or balast resistor either I don't think?
