73 Challenger Ride Height Question
« on: September 30, 2009 - 11:02:21 AM »
Before I begin my restoration of my 73 Challenger, I will need to replace a rusted our rear frame rail. I've got the diagram that has been posted on here showing me the measurements from side to side and the x measurements for all the frame to show me if it is square or not, but I haven't been able to find any info anywhere on how high the frame sat from the ground, at stock height, at the front and the rear. Or do I need to just ensure the frame is level prior to repairs, and work off of that? Thanks!

The only real spec given in the service manual talks about suspension height, not frame to ground height. Suspension height is measuring from the adjuster blade to the floor and then measuring from the lowest point of the steering knuckle arm to ground. Subtract the second measurement from the first and you get front suspension height. The suspension height on a '73 ebody is listed at 1 1/8". I know this isn't exactly what your after but hey, it might help. :dunno:
