Flex plate mounting direction
« on: October 16, 2009 - 05:38:25 PM »
Ok

Getting geared up to reinstall the tranny this weekend.....

I want to make sure that I am mounting the flex plate right.

Here is how the old one was mounted......the "dish" in the center faces out so the flex plate mounting ears are closer to the engine block.  Is this correct?

looks right, and i assume your aware that when you bolt it to the torque converter that the 4 bolt holes on the ears only line up one way on the converter,,you may want to mark it while you have it out  :2cents:

Definitely mark it while you have it out. if not you'll be pulling out your hair!! :pullinghair:

the boot pattern makes it impossible to go on backwards & yes the ears should be closer to the block
