I have an 8-3/4 center section sure grip with 4.10 gears in a -489 case.  Asking $600 (?); located in Milwaukee, WI.  Thanks-

Thanks Bullit....I am in contact with the $800 guy.    Thing is, for another $150 or so I can get a brand new one thru diff Dr.......with a one year warranty....

His is a clutch type, which is good, and its a 741 case....same as what I have now....

what do you think a unit like this is worth ?

Housing -- after replacing the axle seal and using the shim-tape it was holding well...leak free so far....nice and tight......

The tranny situation will be eating up money I had planned for the rear end so I have to see what I can figure out....

GCC -- really not looking to go that steep a gear....but thanks!

If I was going to spend $800 I'd go to the new with warranty for $950.
If you feel the same I suggest you tell him like it is & offer $600.   :2cents:

$800 used is way too high.  You should be able to find one for 400 - 600
