7mm reproduction plug wires with MSD ignition system?

is it possible to drive 7mm reproduction spark plug wires with a (hidden) MSD ignition box? Or will the wires melt?

I wouldn't think you'd have a problem, but the ignition system is only as good as the wires that carry the current to the plugs. I am using Firecore 50 wires with my MSD ignition. They have 50 ohms resistance/ft which is actually better than the MSD wires. I don't know anything about the wires you wish to use, but I would want something with good heat resistance, tear resistance and good electrical properties. If they are compatible with the MSD wires (quality/function), then I'd have no problem using them.

The only time wires melt, is when they get too close to headers. Ask me how I know.   

If these wires are made by a reputable company, then I think you are fine.

well resistance creates heat & the carbon core wires have higher resistance then a spiral core wire will have , having said that I am sure the plugs will fire through the stock wires but I am not sure how long they will last

Yes, but MSD wires are not date coded and will not fit the original wire brackets

I called Firecore and asked them if they were ever planning on date coding their wires. They said no. In any case, they resemble OEM black wires fairly close, just no writing on them.

My 70 was a stock point type ignition system I bought oem type wires. They worked good, then I upgraded to stock mopar electronic ignition and within 500 miles or so, my ignition wires started going bad.  AZNICK sent me a set of firecore wires for my car. They fit like a glove. But I had to make my own coil wire since it was a 6pk engine. I was amazed at the difference my engine ran with the firecore wires. Nick also sent me a longer wire to make my coil wire.
