340 adjustable rockers

How much torque on the rocker arm adjusting lock nuts?

approx 15-20 , it is more of a fell thing , not enough to strip threads but snug enought to stay tight

Thanks. I have a feeling I'm over-tighteneing them. I've had 4 adjusters break off right at the bottom of the adjuster nut.

Unfortunately,  they are not breaking in the tightening process. I don't feel as though I'm really cranking them down too tight, but they seem to get tighter (and some have broken)after the car has been driven for a while. I'm going to check them all with a torque wrench this weekend to be sure.

Check the valve springs for coil bind at max lift
