I need some more help with cuda quarter window
« on: November 12, 2009 - 09:14:21 PM »
The team here has been incredibly helpful to me during my restoration project. I have another request. I'm in the process of replacing the old quarter glass on my Cuda with new glass. I've successfully removed the quarter windows (glass, bracket and molding) from the car, but I'm not sure how to properly extract the glass from the molding and the bracket without causing any damage. Can someone give me some advice or instruction?

Here's a photo of the unit I'm working on:

I think it is just butyl holding it in but I've never removed one. Maybe a hairdryer to heat it up and slowly pull it out?

That's what I was afraid of. It certainly didn't look like an easy or fun job, but I'm going to have to do it. I'm wondering now, though, if I'll need to get replacements for the little rubber seals that wrap around the edges of the glass where they get inserted into the bracket and the molding. Does anyone know where I can get those?
