It's an A833 behind a 383. The motor is on the mild side. 906 heads, good exhaust manifolds, a DP4B intake with a 650 cfm BG carb on it. Cam is a purple .484 that I just advanced 4 degrees. Car was a mess when I got it with mismatched components. After a lot of work and matching things up it's starting to run pretty good. I just put a 3.54 geared Dana in back and it needs a clutch. It's looks to have some kind of parts store variety diaphram clutch in it that feels like it's on the way out.
CP recommends B&B/Long from McLeod. That would mean a lighter disc to help the synchros in the trans. That would be good, but I want to put a 470 in it at some point. Parts I'm currently looking at are as follows;
Pressure Plate = 2200 lbs 10.95 with counterweights part # 360953
http://www.summitracing.com/search/?keyword=360953&dds=1Clutch = 600 series 11" part # 260621
http://www.summitracing.com/search/?keyword=260621&dds=1Flywheel - Ram Auto # 1503 6 bolt 28 lbs for 10.95" Borg and Beck
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/RAM-1503/It's a street only car but the 470 would probably put out 550 or more ft lbs. What do you guys think? Problem is that it's more than the 383 needs but probably not enough for the 470.
