Windows 7
« on: November 27, 2009 - 01:30:38 PM »
I'm just checking if anyone else is running Windows 7. I installed  Windows 7 Ultimate last weekend and as I have gotten used to it I must say I really like it. It's way way better then the previous windows. I never tried Vista but this one is great. My whole computer now runs at least 3 time faster then it did with XP Pro. All my software runs on it also. I did have to put in a new graghics card as mine would not run all of the fun stuff associated with 7. 7 ran on my old card but I didn't get the full function that 7 offers.

Chime in with your view good or bad. As of now it's all good for me!

I have been waiting for system 7 as I want to buy a new laptop but all that I have seen have a starter addition and I decided I would wait for the full version.  I am looking forward to it though . . .

Have had ours up and running for two weeks now. Pam knows about such matters, I can still find you guys and still see some babes and cars here so I'm a happy camper  :roflsmiley: And it's faster than whatever we had last time and I can even make connection when clicking on direct links without problem.  :naughty:  MEK sent me one the other day and my security "guy" said something about possible problems  :dunno: so,.........I didn't proceed any further. He (Mike) later told me it was a video of some babe loosing her top on a roller coaster ride. Maybe Pam installed a  "smut" filter or something.  :smilielol:  But it wooks real smooth and quick, Pam even got a 21" monitor with built in speakers,.................but I just found out a couple days ago how much of my Dart build money she spent  :(   :sadwavey:

Have been running it for over 6 months when it was still Beta. Much better than Vista but looks and feels similar to it. Ck out my post on this previous, I think its still free for download (one year trial) and students can purchase as cheap as $40.

I have been using Microsoft stuff since I first got a pc in '97. I almost switched to Mac with my last tower and with all the crap I have dealt with for the last 12 years I definitely know my next system will be a Mac. Windows 7, Windows 42, I dont care anymore, I am sick of the broken promises.

You're alays better off doing a clean install as opposed to an upgrade.  You can do a clean install of Windows 7 from an upgrade disc by installing it once without entering the serial number (and uncheck activate automatically) during the install, then, once complete, install it again this time entering the serial number.  It will think it's an upgrade of itself.

I am a software developer for a living and work on Macs, Windows, Linux and Unix.  I am happy with Windows 7 so far, and as far as Macs, I personally am not a fan.

Mine is a 32 bit. I did a complete formay and installed 7.  I reinstalled all my old software and have had no trouble at all. I'm not a gamer so I couldn't say what will work there. My computer is about 6-7 year old HP.

I upgraded from Vista to Windows 7. I couldn't believe the conversion went so seamlessly. Windows 7 had the drivers for all my peripherals, and looks for updates for them as well. I must say Windows 7 is purdy.   :grinyes: Sure it takes a little getting used to...But I definitely have no regrets!!    :chatting:

You can go on Microsoft's website and download a program for free that scans your computer and tells you of any problems you might have if you want to upgrade to Windows 7. I suggest anyone do that before they buy it.

I'm still waiting for mine. Ordered my free upgrade from HP (via a 3rd party provider) and one month later, they are still processing my order.  >:(

That's a bunch of horse ****, and HP will be hearing about it (for all the good it will do). :swear: :stomp:

Been running it since Beta and will say its a far better product than Windows Vista.  I have been running Windows XP with my 5 dollar license key I purchased when I was still in school over 10 years ago.  So far it just works and works well.  When the beta license expires in May I will be purchasing licenses for all the systems in my house.
