Toyota has a MAJOR quality control problem. 4 Million cars being recalled for gas pedals sticking to the floor and now spare tires falling out from under the trucks and the brakes failing from frame rust?  Don't wanna hear about how great they are
anymore.   :grinno: :grinno: :grinno: :grinno: :grinno: :grinno: :grinno:

I think this is not the first time for the frame recall type of thing.  I think my brother in law had a '95 Toyota pickup with the same issues, frame rust.  He drove it to the dealer, they checked the frame and told him he could not drive it off the lot unless he signed a liability waiver that Toyota couldn't be held responsible if the truck broke in half basically.

He bought it used privately and they ended up giving him almost twice what he paid for it.  :money:

Same thing happened here with a Dodge Ram. It dropped out on a bad corner from a truck about a  1/4 mile ahead of me. I stopped & got it out of the road.

Rust is not model specific.  ;)

Any spare tire can fall out of a truck if it isn't correctly secured. Ditto a Minivan that
has the spare in the same place. Never seen one fall out of an American vehicle in my 34 + years driving in the most populated state in America, or a frame break in half. I've seen major rust on truck frames but the Dodge frames are so big and thick it would take 30+ years for them to have structural problems that would compromise drivability.  Probably longer.  :grinyes:

I had the spare tire fall out of a '93 Dakota. The only thing holding it in was a small cable. The cable broke and the tire fell out on a busy street. I was really lucky it didn't hit another car.
