Since it's a project car and not an original Hemi/6=Pack, etc, I wouldn't bother with an appraiser, but I would get a hold of a member locally to check it out, just to make sure the frame rails aren't doctored up, etc.  As far as the transaction, just make sure you keep all the paperwork, and make payment through a bank check or USPS money order so you have an official trail, then you have to trust that the seller is on the up and up, which is another good reason to have someone physically meet the seller and verify the car does exist.

That was what i was thinking. I just want to put my mind at ease that the car exists. I hear that a USPS money order is the best way to go. Is there any time required for a USPS money order to "clear" like a bank check?

For a USPS money order, you have to pay with cash or a debit card, and I believe you can only do a single MO for up to $1,000, but I'm not sure if there is a linit to the number of MOs you can purchase.  Depending on the price you're paying, you might be better off getting a bank check.

Let me know if you would like me to check it over for you.  I am certainly no expert, but I can confirm that it exists and look for doctored up rust or collision damage.

if I read this right, our member is happy withe the pics, info and how the transaction has transpired to this point. What he would like is, probably a third party to insure he does get title and car at time of money being paid to the seller. Maybe a member there can step up and be a middle man.

This thought may not be politically correct, but is an opinion offered. It may be correct? or it may be wrong? It is not designed to appease those needing shelter from the real world.

Thanks for the offer Shane.

Bigs is in Milwaukee. He has volunteered to check the car out for me.
Thanks to all on this site. You've been very helpful.
