Ignition key lamp assembly

Hi
I hope somebody can tell me what what the Ignition key lamp assembly is doing  :clueless: the car is a 1970 Barracuda
Where is that lamp located?  :banghead:

the lamp is in the column where the screwdiver is pointed , the plastic piece transmits the light out & directs it toward the ign lock so you can see where to put your key in the lock

works real good when its dark and only stays for a short time

What turns the lamp on? if it is to be uset to find the key hole!

there is a 3 prong timer unit under the dash which is triggered with the door opening & it stays on for 45 seconds or so
