Holley 600CFM or 650CFM for 340 engine ...and intake
« on: December 10, 2009 - 09:47:03 PM »
My brother is trying to put a 66 Cuda with a '69 340 back on the road with a limited budget.   Does anyone have either a good dual plane (ie. Edelbrock LD4B or similar) aluminum intake for a 340??   Also in search of a carb for the same.   We are not after an old one that requires tons of work, but rather a newer one that has been removed and forgotten in favour of something different.   This is for street use only .... so no High Performance or high reving requirements needed.   Who has some spare parts that could use a few bucks??

Thanks ..... CHAPS

The LD4B intake is for 318's (smaller intake runners). If you want an older intake than the Edelbrock LD340 is a great choice. The Edelbrock Performer RPm (7176) is what I am running and absolutely love it.

Thanks John ..... that is terrific information.  I wasn't aware of the differences.   If you are running the Performer 7176 for street use primarily and are happy, I think we will follow suit.

Cheers .... Gary
