New Challenger with t/a hood?
« on: December 23, 2009 - 02:09:51 PM »
I was crusin into town today and saw a new medium blue challenger on the lot with a t/a hood scoop installed. Not black tho, all the same color. Right next to it was another srt8 I gues.  So they are putting t/a hoods on these cars now?

I was driving up north to Indiana last week and a hauler going the other way had a red one with a red T/A hood, and the dealer stickers were still on the windows.  It was the only Challenger on the truck, though.

Yes, that is a new option package that has started showing up at dealers in the last few months.
No bargain IMHO!!
For $1995 you get the T/A hood, a wing spoiler instead of the trunk lip spoiler, and a really Fugly side stripe decal.......

The hood looks too short for the T/A setup IMHO.  Of course the whole car looks to short in my opinion.

Where did you take that picture?  That is the exact same setup that I saw a couple weeks ago on the truck.

I think I saved that picture from a dealer's ebay listing for one he was selling.
I haven't seen one in person yet, though a dealer not far from me had one or two with that package I've heard.
I've seen black, red and white R/T's listed on ebay with that option so far, AFAIK this option is available on R/T's only.

My local Dodge dealer has a white R/T in stock with the appearance package. Personally I think the hood is out of proportion. The T/A hood from Group 5 is a lot better.

I like the look of the package although the scoop isn't functional. 2 years ago when I ordered my R/T the 27F package was a base R/T. Sometime this year they changed the codes.

I like it, but I am not digging that stripe at all. I wonder if you can get the hood with another stripe or if not, a stripe delete?

Apparently the factory has to pay list price from mopar for add-on parts.  :smilielol:

I wonder if they called Foose for that stripe.  :puke:
