XMODS 1:28 2009 Dodge Challenger on sale....
« on: January 07, 2010 - 09:58:35 AM »
Sorry if this was already posted.  :dunno:

I just picked up an XMODS Radio controlled 2009 Dodge Challenger.  This isn't my pic but it's one I got off the net, I'm too lazy to go take one.  :faint:

It's cool because it's digital proportional.  I also got the Stage 2 motor kit that steps up the motor from 27,000rpm to 30,000rpm so it increases the speed from 880 feet per minute to like 1200fpm.  Also comes with ring and pinion gears set for more low end torque or for top speed.  A metal bearing kit is also available but hard to find.  All wheel drive kits are on clearance for $8, the Stage 2 motor upgrade kit was $8 as well.

Best of all, it was half price!  Reg=$50, I paid $25.  Available at Radio Shack stores.

It's 1:28 scale so 1:24 scale model car bodies will not fit unless the chassis is modified/stretched.  I have to figure out how to do that....

Considering the scale, it is a pretty darned good replica.

I guess with some lithium ion battery hop up and the right gearing, 30mph is very doable.

Supposedly there are "dyno queen" versions of the XMOD cars that can actually 60mph, real speed, not scale speed.  The can barely move on their own from a stand still but have crazy top speed.  Pretty fast considering these are only like 7" long.
