Rewiring my 1970 Barracuda...
« on: January 19, 2010 - 09:29:17 PM »
...and I'm planning to use the factory connectors for the steering column harness.

On the wiring harness side of that connection, I discovered that one of the wires got hot for a long period of time in the last 40 years and melted the insulation off the wire.   :22yikes: (no wonder my volt meter has been flakey)

I"m planning to splice the new harness to factory connector, but I need to replace the terminal and wire that melted.  Any suggestions on where to get the bullet style terminal for this connector?

Thanks in advance for your help...

Try -  http://evanswiring.tripod.com/id3.html  - i'm not sure they have what you need, but probably can help you find it, if not.

Bullet Terminals are available in small qty, I believe I purchased from an Ace Hardware.
At Radio Shack they sell them in connector packs...not the most economical way...but
there are two sizes used in the wide flat plug...if you replace your ignition switch you get a new harness/plug with it.
