Removal of center console brackets
« on: January 08, 2010 - 09:52:47 AM »
I was wondering if this bracket was only for the center console? it has been a long time and i don't remember. I am not going to reinstall the center console.

Yes, I believe that is just for the console.  Do you have a 4-speed car?

I'm putting carpet in my car now, that bracket is for the rear center console mount.

Perfect. I figured that that was all it held. But i didn't want to remove it withour verifying. Yes i do have a 4 speed. But i am goin g to go without the center console. it was in pretty tough shape when i got the car and i wasn't overly impressed with it.

if you are going without the console you can remove it, but I think that it wouldn't be an issue to leave as is and cover it with the carpet.

:iagree: I was going to suggest that you remove it carefully as someone is always wanting one! I got mine off a member that was kind enough to carefully remove them! :2thumbs: One thing I've learned with these cars is THROW NOTHING AWAY!
Someone always can use it!

Give me a bit to look over my center console to see if i want to fix it up or trash it. I have a pistol grip 4spd, and kind of like the look without the console. i just need a bit to decide if i want to go that direction, and then i will be more than happy to send it over to ya for nothing.

Tony's sells brand new console plastic. I have (3) 4 speeds and all 3 have the consoles. They kind of look like they are missing something without them.  But you should take that out if you don't run one.

Not trying to kill your purchase 74Chall, I just can't imagine a console car missing it's console.
