Which is better Vintage Air or Classic auto Air?
« on: January 21, 2010 - 11:09:54 AM »
Im installing in a 70 non A/C Challenger, which one would you buy?  I heard vintage air  has a goofy Control panel.  Horror stories/ fairy tales welcome, I just want to know before I get one.  Whats the difference in price?  Ever install one on a Slant 6? :dunno:
Pix? Any help would be most appreciated.    Thanks

I used vintage air and it works great, I used one of thier custom control panels but I think they make one that is a direct fit for an ebody.

Was it a bolt on? I assume ill have to cut a hole or 2 in the fire wall, but other than that does it cool it off pretty quick? this car is for a female, so I want her happy.  Pix? Ballpark price?

They do make a bolt on kit but I just bought the Gen IV system and installed it as my car is custom, It cools very well and in fact even better than my wifes new honda van.

I have a heater/airco from Classic Air. Looks very good to me.

I don't know at the moment how it will work because I'm still busy with the car.

You can use the original controlpanel. It is a bolt on, but I change a couple of things.

You can use the big hole in the firewall, but I change this part. I have weld a new piece in it.
