Rear shackle mounting with 3" kit
« on: September 26, 2004 - 01:06:23 PM »
Has anyone installed the 3" offset kit on there E-body? I want to know the correct way to support the rear shackles. I have seen numerous A-body's, but not one e-body.

Unless you are installing tubs or minitubs there is no advantage in using the 3 inch kit

That's why nobody uses them

it has to do with the way the leafsprings are in the car slightly diagonally

to use the 3 inch relo kit you need to notch the frame in a least 2 places and I think it makes a mess
of your frame

A and B body cars don't have this problem 'cause their frames and springs are straight and
parrallel in the car
Use the 3/4 inch relo kit with a B-body housing on a otherwise stock E-body
