Cuda HPI Savage SS Nitro
« on: September 13, 2004 - 03:22:16 PM »
As I would go too car shows I would see people with nice models that look just like their car sitting on their air cleaner, or pictures and what nots so I thought I would take it to the next level. I have an HPI Savage SS Nitro. For all of you that dont know what that is, it is an gas powered monster truck that goes faster than 40 MPH. Everyone remembers the old gas powered airplanes back in the day, what they have done is taken that motor and put it a light weight radio controlled truck. Anyways, they make an aftermarket 70 cuda body for it and I paid a guy to airbrush it to make it real close to my 72. (round tail lites). So at the next car show I will rippin it up with my red neck monster Cuda. lol........ if they can take chargers and challengers and make monster trucks out of them in real life then I can get away with it as a model...... can yall say ye-haaawwww.

I can't believe you have a savage!  I have one too, but not the SS, I have the .21 (the original savage).  I also just got the Traxxas Revo.  It is a pretty cool truck.  I did know about the cuda body but I haven't picked it up yet, been too busy with the real cuda.  I didn't think of painting in the tail lights.  Thanks for the idea!  LOL.  We go racing every sat. night.  Not only racing, but we have a bunch of ramps set up in a parking lot that keeps their lights on all night.  The cops come and clock us with radar sometimes.  I also have an HPI Nitro MT.  Joe (my husband) has 4 T-Maxx's and we both have a Team Losi Mini T.

Wow yall are really organized over there. We dont have anything like that here. I just play with mine on my street and in my yard. Wish I was there. They are a blast. Once the Cuda Body arrives I will post more pics with it on the truck and maybe even doing a small jump. I really dont want to mess it up.

We didn't have anything here either.  We had a couple of friends who were into driving RCs as well so we started hanging out and driving in a big parking lot.  Then we built a few wooden ramps and then a few more, etc.  We bought cones and now we block off the parking lot so idiots don't try to hit the ramps or run over our trucks with thier cars.  You should go to savagecentral.com and see if there are any people in your area.  Maybe you can start something up too.  They have cool videos on there too.

I did it once in the 7th grade in seattle and loved it. good group of people.

wow that Cuda body looks nice!  I have one of those things, and it was upside down in less than 3 minutes!  Guess I'm just a crazy driver.   ;)
