if the first cut on the key near the head of the key is shallow the short pin will eventually turn sideways in the lock as it wears preventing the key from going in unless you use the tip of the to pull the pin back a little . basically you nned to replace the lock itself , a new lock can be pinned to match your existing key , keeping the locks lubed with graphite will help prevent this happening
