Drove the Ratty R/T today!
« on: February 21, 2010 - 07:20:10 PM »
After dinking with the Challenger endlessly, I have finally taken it for a test drive :burnout:
Runs great, a little boggy on hard acceleration, nothing too bad though. The exhaust is banging on something when I hit a bump, needs an alignment, tranny service and the brakes bled a little more.

All in all, it was very pleasing to hear the whine of the LA, and smelling all the different odors associated with the car
A little musty, some exhaust fumes and burning oil off the headers, now that's what I call AROMATHERAPY!!

In all seriousness, enjoy your ride!!!!

No better feeling than when you take it out on the road after having it sit for a while.  It has been five years since I last drove my car but when I do I know it will be exactly what I want.  Hopefully this summer.  Just need a transmission to go with my hemi engine.  Thinking of going with a A518 RH47 mod for my horse power.  I want the overdrive and durability for the 650 hp the engine is suppose to be able to do.   Still negotiating with the engine and transmission guy on what the right path is though.  Been thinking of just rebuilding the 318 and 904 so I can run the car until we get this all sorted out.  Sometimes it is a long road to point you can take it for a drive.  My car had to have major work on it to get it where it is today so I'm happy with it.  I know when it was a rusty old junker I still loved driving it.  Just so fun and satisfying.  I envy you no matter how sad a state you think your car is in.
