Best 4 Wheel Disc Brake?
« on: February 22, 2010 - 10:30:10 AM »
Who make the best 4 wheel disc set-up for a E-Body? The rear end is a Dana 60 and the fronts are original drumbs. Need the whole deal including master cylender and booster that fits with a Hemi.

not sure who makes the best Kit , I used the SSbc one for the rear & the caliper hits the rear sway bar if you have that

I guess the question is what do you mean by best? Do you mean provides the best stopping power, or is the best bang for your buck, or will clear a 15 inch rim? If you are looking for best, you would probably be looking at something like a Baer 13" rotor kit with 6 piston calipers, if you are looking at budget contacting someone like Dr. Diff may be the best route. For me I am going to be piecing my front together, and ordering a Dr. Diff rear kit as I want to maintain my 15 inch rims, but want the stopping power of hydraboost and viper front calipers.

By best I don't really mean most stoping power. More of a complete kit that will work together with no problems. I have done my own DIY 4 wheel brakes and trucks before and I can be a real pain finding the right MC and valve to get even stopping power front and back.

So I am looking for a complete kit front to back that is made to work together, won't be doing and road racing, just want to get rid of all the drum brakes.

For wheels I am planing on stock rallys which are only 14" I believe?

I put Master Power (MP) front disc on my B-Body.  The kit came with a bad master cylinder that had to be replaced, had a hell of a time getting the banjo-style hoses to stop leaking at the caliper, the instructions were absolutely worthless, and bolt-on means you still have to fabricate new brakes lines to fit the combination valve (they don't tell you that up front).  I was lucky that a friend had a flaring tool I could borrow and learn to do brake lines as OJT.  Once I got all the bugs worked out they seem to work fine, but I was expecting much higher quality and a quicker installation for the $$$.  I will give credit to their tech support that worked with me to solve all the problems and replace the bad parts.   :2cents:
