I guess just use some grade 5 bolts?

I'm sure that would work. I can get grade 8 easier so I'll most likley use them?
Nylon lock nuts and washers too?

Wait a minute...isen't the studs part of the pedal assembly? I haven't looked ,I just assumed that?

I dont think so.

The studs built in to the master cylcinder go thru and secure the MC to the firewall.

Me thinks the "kit" being sold is a generic kit.

My new M/C just showed up today. Hey Pete it looks like the same one you offered? :banghead: I got out the verniers and measured the bore. If you measure at the end around the spring clip the bore does measure a little over 1 1/8 ,so I removed the clip and pulled out the piston enough to measure and it is 1 1/32. So I'm sure it is the exact same as yours! Oh well someone else will most likely need it someday?
Thanks anyhow! :2thumbs: Now I just need some warmer weather to work on the car. I'm getting a big pile of parts to put on the car again! :bigsmile:





just a fyi , this master cylinder is sold at any autoparts store ,1980s truck non magnum  truck. the only draw back is you have to go through their inventory to get the aluminum one .

Anyone know how much just the adapter is?  as mentioned the M/C are available locally

OEM 2-bolt aluminum master cylinders with plastic reservoir:

'95 Lebaron 7/8" bore**

'89 Dakota 15/16" bore**

'85 Diplomat (F-body) 1 1/32" bore*

'85 D-150 1 1/8" bore*

**Back of piston must be bored to accept manual brake push rod and retainer.

* Back of piston will accept manual brake push rod and retainer.

Rule of thumb:

1. Master cylinder piston size is relative to caliper piston size. Large caliper pistons require large MC piston.

2. All things equal, smaller bore master = higher line pressure and longer, softer pedal stroke.

I don't remember for manual brakes but the studs are there on the booster. :thumbsup:

Good info...wish I would have seen it befoe I bought this!

Dont get me wrong....what i got seems like it should work.....but i could have saved $20.

Anyone know off hand the size of bolts needed to make this MC/adaptor work?
