If I was going to spend $5,000

I think I might gamble and get this motor.....with that cam 11 to 1 compression might run on 93 octane fuel with the timing @ say 32 degrees...and I could loosen the lash a bit and get 1.5 rockers to tame the motor down a bit..

Sounds fun.  Can you go look at it, and/or have them do a cylinder leak down test?

Yeah I wish, be a good excuse to check out LA, lol.

I'm up near Canada over in Michigan--the Motor City....dump, ha ha.

That is why free shipping sound great, plus I would sell those 1.6 rockers, the strip intake, the Demon (but only cause I want to use my dual carbs).

True these motors were beat on and might be better off buying a old gressy never been bore 340 for around $1,200 it seems they are out there and sink $3,800 in to it.

There is another 340 in NY the guy wants $2,500 or $2,900 buy it now..he goes last night how he just brought a carb for it--check out his feedback. I'm thinking WHY, what carb did he have and doesn't want to sell. Today he goes posting how the motor really pulls hard cause he was running two Holley 390's on a tunnel ram...Un Huh....he wants the money to build a 408 stoker.

So its a 2 year old rebuild, he ran it likely on a drag strip, gets his butt kick by a 408 most likely and now wants to sell. Has a broken mount motor ear too. Nothing about it being balanced, deck, etc.

Check it out.

Just for the interested, the original post for the 430hp 340 belongs to a FABO forum member (for a-bodies only). Its also listed over there. Just thought it might help someone make a decision.  ;D

Indy has an ad in the latest Mopar Muscle mag for a new carb'd 5.7 Hemi crate motor for $4995. Includes plug and play wiring, chrome valve covers and a 600 cfm carb.
