I was thinking of installing something like this in my car.

go ahead , you can do it two ways you can have it in the rear line so it prevents pressure from going to the rear brakes & use the pedal to hold the front brakes on ,or you can install it in the front brakes to capture the pressure in the front lines so you do not have to use your foot to hold the brakes on which is better with a 4 speed , the only issue is it will trip the brake warning light in the stock proportioning valve when you use the line lock as the pressure will be different front to rear
