Roller rockers and springs advice

I am throwing together a 318 with parts I have laying around the garage.
 
318 cid, 509/292 cam, 360 heads, 3500 stall, 3.91 gear

I am wanting to throw on a set on roller rockers and new valve springs for that cam. What do you guys recommend.

You need a pretty stout spring to accomodate this cam, and it will probably have at least 130psi of seat pressure. I see at least 230 open, also. The duration of the cam will also have some say in how stiff the springs must be.

If it''s a garage toss together I'd say find some 273 rockers and shafts. No need for exotic stuff. I would run stock stamped steel before I run the low dollar rockers available online. But that's just me.

I'm in the market right now for valve springs myself.

First, call the cam mfg'r annd ask what their recommendations are. Get valve spring PSI open and closed. Next, go to your machine shop and get info on the adjusted valve spring height. you should get that info. before you order.

A couple years ago I bought some Comp Cam valve springs....only 3 or 4 of the 16 met their spec, the rest were low by 5-10 pounds seat pressure and worse at valve open height.  The parts dealer did not want to take them back since they were special order, until I'd made enough heat in their office.   I returned them and bought a set of Crane springs.  Every one of them met Crane's specs and met the manufacturers heavy duty police interceptor specs.
Thats the last set of comp springs I'll buy...maybe they are better now...I'll let someone else find out.

..........I would definately NOT use that cam or the 360 heads on a 318 unless u have at the very leasr 11.0-1 comp......that cam bleeds off way 2 much cyl pressure + the heads lower the comp over 1 point.......u will b very pissed when a slant kicks ur ass......................kim.......

Would the late 80's "302" heads I hear so much about be a good choice?

Thanks everyone for your input. I am just putting this together to get may challenger moblie while I build my 340 stroker. I found a set of 273 adj. rocker my buudy had laying around. I am just wanting the sound of that cams slow idle and long duration.
